Opatija, known as the 'Queen of the Adriatic,' combines 19th-century Habsburg architecture with direct access to the open Kvarner Gulf — from Opatija's harbor, the islands of Cres, Krk, or Lošinj are less than an hour away by boat. Unlike most Kvarner destinations, Opatija also offers full town infrastructure (restaurants, marinas, supplies) right at the departure point for island trips.
